The Good for You program was designed with your health in mind. Food items that offer a healthier option for meals or snacks are identified by a sticker (insert sticker) shown here. Options vary from salads, soups, sandwiches, and more... simply look for the sticker (shown below) and the choice is up to you!

Good for You Criteria
The program, lauched in 2004, was developed based on the standards established by "Health Canada's: Food Guide to Healthy Eating" and nutrition recommendations for Canadians. The standards are: To promote a diet that is low in total fat, low in saturated and trans fats, low in sodium and high in fibre, and has been shown to reduce the risk of various chronic diseases

Eat Smart - Workplace Cafeteria Program
In 2007, The HHS Volunteer Association was awarded the provincial Eat Smart! Award of Excellence fromthe City of Hamilton Health Department in recognition of high standards with respect to nuturition. All food service outlets received the award after satisfying the 18 criteria that are based on the key messages and concepts of eating well with Canada's Food Guide.
Locations
