Services Provided
The Hamilton Health Sciences performs approximately 25,000 surgeries annually. Surgeries are performed at the General, Juravinski and McMaster Sites of the Hamilton Health Sciences, with each site specializing in specific services as described below:
General: The General Site specializes in cardiac, burns, neurosurgery, spine, trauma and vascular surgeries. In addition, Ears Nose and Throat, General Surgery, Plastics, Orthopedics and Urology surgeries are also performed at the General Site.
Juravinski: The Juravinski Hospital specializes in oncology (cancer) surgeries and orthopedic total joint replacement surgeries. The cancer surgeries performed here include Breast, Colorectal, Gyn/oncology, Hepatobiliary, Sarcoma, and Urology. In addition, General Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial, Plastics and Urology surgeries are also performed at the Juravinski Site.

McMaster: The McMaster Site specializes in pediatric surgeries, Women’s Health (Gynecology) and adult outpatient procedures. Adult outpatient surgeries include General Surgery, Ears Nose Throat, Oral and Maxillofacial and Orthopedics. Pediatric Surgical Services include Dental, Ears Nose Throat, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Oral and Maxillofacial, and Orthopedics.
Pre-operative Clinic: The Pre-operative Clinic for all patients undergoing surgery at the HHS is located at the McMaster Site.
