Private philanthropy from individuals is a crucial component of our future. Leadership giving will ensure that McMaster Children's Hospital can recruit and retain the finest medical and scientific professionals, provide access to state-of-the-art patient care facilities and diagnostic tools, and to build and support leading edge research to improve the outcomes for children with disease or trauma. Gifts may be designated to an area of personal interest to the donor; however, the best gift to McMaster Children's Hospital is an undesignated (unrestricted) gift to support top priority needs. An undesignated gift allows the hospital to immediately send dollars to the areas of greatest need. Many people do not realize that there are ways to help McMaster Children's Hospital beyond cash donations. You may make a Gift of Stock (Securities) or plan a future gift. A future gift may include a gift of life insurance, a gift of an RRSP or RRIF, a Trust or Gift Annuity, or a gift in your will. These donations are usually arranged as part of financial and estate planning, and they enable you to set aside a portion of your assets for McMaster Children's Hospital without putting a strain on your current budget.
