The Privacy Office at Hamilton Health Sciences  

The Privacy Office consists of a Director of Privacy and Freedom of Information and specialists in Privacy Legislation (FIPPA, MFIPPA, PHIPA, PIPEDA, Access to Information Act) who builds and supports a culture of privacy through interpretation, education and guidance, which ensures compliance with the Acts. The Privacy Office supports and assists the staff, physicians, patients and families at HHS, to ensure the protection of the personal health information of our patients and the employment data of our staff.

HHS's Privacy Office was established to be a resource for privacy issues and to:

  • Ensure that HHS is in compliance with PHIPA
  • Establish privacy training programs for HHS staff, physicians and agents
  • Develop policy and procedure related to privacy
  • Manage requests for Amendments, Corrections or Inquiries about personal health information
